Powering up the Layout

Go to the central support column in the middle of the layout.  Access this via the layout alcove where the large turntable is.   At about a height of 4ft on the south facing surface of the column is a switch (looks like a light switch).   Turn this on (the red light lights up).   This will turn on power to all aspects of the HO layout including the DCC controller, layout lights, wigwag lights, turntable controller and turn out controllers.

Note:  Power on the mainline is automatically switched on with this switch.  Power to the sidings will only be turned on once the correct switch is flicked.  If an LED at the end of the siding is on, the siding power is on.   Slide drawers on each alcove allow access to the siding switches.
