Detailed Description (What):

Remove the front lower hardboard skirting on HO layout.
Replace with inexpensive Black or White particle board shelving preferably with doors.
Use this space as Library to store magazines and other content.

Reason(s) (Why):

Cancelled as not needed and replaced by under table shelving. Currently most of the club’s library is in banker’s boxes under the layout. while much of this is not accessed regularly, it is still interesting reading material worth having. In addition, DVDs and other media and regularly read materials need an easy to access space.

The front of the layout offers a long space with relatively easy access that is not utilized currently. Providing shelving will increase storage, especially for media in a very accessible way. This will also clear out underneath the layout.

Notes:

Doors would be ideal for a clean look, but could be open shelves.
a 2×4 kicker to protect the inexpensive shelves from water damage may be desirable.
If the front of the layout is expanded, this could still be done though the profile would be different.

Tabled depending on use of existing under table shelving.
