Detailed Description (What):
Provide overhead LED lighting to shine down on the wigwag actuator sensors.
Reason(s) (Why):
If there is a cloudy day or the blinds are closed in the layout room ( i.e the majority of the winter) then the light is not enough to actuate the sensors on the main line wigwags. The result of low light is that the wigwags are on constantly and are not actuated by passing trains.
Notes:
Costs would be for two LED flashlight arrangements on the walls – near power supplies and two ceiling mounted mirrors to deflect the light down onto the sensors. Approx. $20 for mirrors – light weight and $20 for LED illumination and associated power supplies. If the circuitry for the LEDs was home built then this cost could just be $5 for the bright LEDs. Would need some experimentation to determine extent of lighting needed.Of course none of this would be needed if we had two overhead spotlights – but how to fit and install?? tracklighting? This will be cancelled due to issue being addressed by overhead lighting project
