Problem Description:
Locomotive is a flaky. Often it will run fine and then suddenly just stop responding. Likely a wiring issue.
Also, lighting was never connected up.
Recommend a double check of all connections. Also check for shorts (lighting wires?) It’s a mess of wires.
Clean and lube.
When it’s working it is a reliable runner.

Classic POS. The missing coupler bases are the killer. The decoder is shot – corrupted sound file. And the wheel sets slide in and out – needs fixing.
Cost of repair will be $20 for new chassis with coupler bases, $80 for new decoder, $5 for lights. For $160 we can get a new loco with sound, warranty and no damage to the body.
